The O-ring is relaxed.

As the pressure keeps increasing the O-ring is compressed and the passageway of the water is reduced.

As the pressure further increases the O-ring is compressed further and the passageway of the water is even more reduced: the flow rate remains constant.

An integrated flow regulator saves water

NEOPERL^® water savers ensure a constant flow regardless of the line pressure. For instance hand washing uses 7 liters of water per minute, while taking a shower uses 12 liters.
The integrated NEOPERL^® flow regulator is composed of a body and a dynamic O-ring. The O-ring reacts to the pressure changes and adjusts its shape to decrease the amount of water going through: while the flow rate remains constant.
